Will Cullen Hart, Psychedelic Music Visionary and Elephant 6 Co-Founder, Dies at 53

The Olivia Tremor Control and Circulatory System musician leaves behind a legacy of experimental pop brilliance and artistic innovation.

Will Cullen Hart, a co-founder of the Elephant 6 collective and member of Olivia Tremor Control, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the age of 53 from natural causes.
Hart was celebrated for his contributions to groundbreaking psychedelic and experimental pop music, including Olivia Tremor Control's cult-classic albums 'Dusk at Cubist Castle' and 'Black Foliage.'
In addition to his music, Hart was a prolific visual artist and known for his innovative use of tape loops, sound collages, and unconventional recording techniques.
His death coincided with the release of two new Olivia Tremor Control songs, 'Garden of Light' and 'The Same Place,' their first new music in 13 years, recorded during the 2022 Elephant 6 documentary project.
Hart, who had battled multiple sclerosis for nearly two decades, continued to create music and art, inspiring a devoted fanbase and leaving an enduring impact on the indie music community.
