Overview
- Adif said the corridor will remain closed at least until midday Tuesday, with a morning review to determine whether afternoon services can resume.
- Renfe is operating limited special trains only between Madrid and Zamora and has not set up buses to Ourense due to safety and logistical constraints highlighted by Transport Minister Óscar Puente.
- Stranded travelers are organizing private minibuses at about €50 per seat or turning to costly taxis and flights, while Renfe allows free ticket changes or refunds.
- Multiple conventional routes are also cut, including stretches of León–Monforte de Lemos, Zamora–Sanabria and the Palencia–León metric line between Guardo and Puente Almuhey.
- Separately, the Vigo–Oporto Tren Celta now requires a transfer at Viana do Castelo due to aging units, causing delays and a temporary setup running through Oct. 31 per Renfe, with Comboios de Portugal extending measures into mid‑December.
