Overview
- A nearby resident in Elst smelled smoke and reported it, leading firefighters to discover the fire on the Remmerdense Heide near Defensieweg.
- The fire service sent two platoons made up of eight fire vehicles with about six firefighters per vehicle, plus water-transport units and a drone team for situational awareness.
- The blaze burned roughly 4,500 square meters and affected both sides of Defensieweg before crews declared it under control at 06:35.
