Overview
- North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it received the call at 12:56 pm about a blaze behind Maes Du Golf Club on Cwm Mountain.
- The service reported two appliances from Llandudno, two from Colwyn Bay, and one each from Denbigh, Bangor, Prestatyn, Holywell and Rhyl, plus two wildfire units from Abergele.
- People were told to stay away from the area and residents in Llandudno, including on Ffordd Maenan and Bodnant, were asked to keep windows and doors closed.
- Smoke was seen from Abergele, Llanfairfechan and the Conwy Valley, with some locals saying they could hear the fire crackling near homes.
- The incident follows recent blazes at Mynydd Bodafon and Newborough Forest, as Natural Resources Wales urged visitors to skip BBQs because a single spark can cause serious harm.
