Wild Place Jonas Brodin on IR, Recall Carson Lambos

Retroactive placement could clear Brodin to return as soon as Saturday.

Overview

  • Minnesota announced Wednesday that defenseman Jonas Brodin was moved to injured reserve and prospect Carson Lambos was recalled from AHL Iowa.
  • Brodin sustained a lower-body injury on Dec. 11 against Dallas and has missed the last three games.
  • Head coach John Hynes has characterized Brodin’s absence as short term, saying it should be a matter of days rather than more than a week.
  • If the IR is backdated to Dec. 11, Brodin would be eligible to play Saturday against the Oilers, while Lambos could make his NHL debut Thursday at Columbus.
  • The Wild are down several regulars, including Mats Zuccarello, Jacob Middleton and Vinnie Hinostroza on IR with Marcus Johansson and Daemon Hunt also out, yet they have won five straight in regulation and are 17-3-2 since Nov. 1.
