Overview
- The Ukrainian firm Wild Hornets said Friday its Hornet Vision Ctrl let a pilot steer a Sting interceptor from 2,000 kilometers away.
- Hornet Vision Ctrl is an upgraded control station with long-range video and command links that the company unveiled in late March.
- The firm said the system supports both analog and digital drones with switchable communication channels and is now being deployed with plans for mass production targeted at 100 kilometers of routine control.
- Wild Hornets previously credited the system with helping a soldier known as Hulk from the Bulava unit shoot down two Russian Shahed drones from 500 kilometers away.
- On Saturday, the company said a Foxtrot crew in Ukraine used Sting interceptors to down 30 Shahed and Gerbera drones in 24 hours, a figure reported as a unit record against Russia’s frequent UAV attacks.
