Wife and Lover Guilty of Plot to Murder Husband in Fake Robbery Plan

The verdict followed evidence of detailed murder planning in text messages, including a forged suicide note.

Overview

  • A Swansea Crown Court jury on Oct. 21 found Michelle Mills and Geraint Berry guilty of conspiracy to murder Christopher Mills, while Steven Thomas was acquitted of that charge.
  • Mills was also convicted of perverting the course of justice over the account she gave police after the incident.
  • Prosecutors said the pair intended to make the killing look like suicide, presenting thousands of messages discussing methods alongside a bogus note addressed to “Babs.”
  • The case stemmed from a Sept. 20, 2024 attack at the couple’s holiday caravan in Cenarth, where two masked men with imitation firearms were fought off before being found hiding nearby.
  • Berry and Thomas had earlier admitted possessing imitation firearms with intent to cause fear, and the judge ordered pre-sentence reports with sentencing set for Dec. 19, 2025.
