Wiesbaden Police Use Taser in Two City-Center Clashes

Police describe the cases as part of a recent pattern of Taser use in Wiesbaden.

Overview

  • On Friday around 20:10 on Bleichstraße, officers responded to a reported fight involving a 47-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman.
  • The man threatened to attack police, was stopped with a Taser, then allegedly tried to kick and hit officers while handcuffed and spat in an officer's face, leading to charges including resistance and bodily harm.
  • The woman, who held a broken glass bottle, was detained without resistance and is being investigated on a bodily-harm allegation.
  • In a separate case on Saturday, a 32-year-old allegedly stole small items then threw a beer bottle and chairs at officers, leading to Taser and pepper-spray use, with minor injuries to him and two officers and his transfer to a psychiatric hospital.
  • Investigators asked witnesses to the Friday altercation to call 0611 3452240 and said the incidents are among several recent Taser deployments reported by Wiesbaden police.
