Widower of Former Maricopa County Attorney Suspected in Christmas Eve Murder-Suicide

David DeNitto allegedly killed his girlfriend and her mother before taking his own life, less than two years after his wife Allister Adel's death.

David DeNitto, the widower of former Maricopa County Attorney Allister Adel, is suspected of killing Maryalice Cash and her mother Cynthia Domini before committing suicide on Christmas Eve.
The incident occurred in Phoenix, Arizona, during a holiday gathering.
Allister Adel, the first woman to be elected as Maricopa County’s attorney, died in April 2022 of unspecified health complications.
Adel resigned from her position in March 2022 amid criticism over her performance, including the dismissal of 180 misdemeanor cases due to charges not being filed before the expiration of the statute of limitations.
Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, Adel’s successor, expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and asked the community to pray for the affected families, especially Adel's children.
