- Taped at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre with an Emerald City–inspired set, it featured a 37-piece orchestra led by Stephen Oremus and a segment filmed at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre.
- Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande co-hosted and performed selections including “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” with appearances by Idina Menzel, Kristin Chenoweth, director Jon M. Chu and composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz.
