'Wicked' film adaptation wraps up principal photography, with Ariana Grande and director Jon M. Chu sharing emotional messages.
Grande is set to play Glinda, and Cynthia Erivo will portray Elphaba in the film, which is divided into two parts. The first part is set to be released on Nov. 27, 2024, and the second part on Nov. 26, 2025.
Director Jon M. Chu praised the crew and cast for supporting the ambitious cinematic production, mentioning that they built real Munchkinland, a multi-level Shiz University Campus, and a real Emerald City.
Michelle Yeoh, who plays Madame Morrible, shared that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo convinced her to join the musical, describing them as 'angels'.
Other cast members include Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Keala Settle, Bronwyn James, Aaron Teoh, Colin Michael Carmichael, and Jeff Goldblum.
