White Sox Closer Liam Hendriks Beats Cancer, Eyes Return

Liam Hendriks, the Chicago White Sox closer, discovered lumps in his neck and hips in June and was diagnosed with stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in December.
Hendriks completed chemotherapy treatments and is currently in remission.
Hendriks believes he was pitching with lymphoma for most of last season, hurting his performance.
He will complete a rehab assignment before rejoining the White Sox, whose bullpen has struggled without him.
Hendriks signed a three-year, $54 million deal with the White Sox in January 2021 and led the American League with 38 saves in his first year with the team.
