Overview

  • The White House says President Trump intends to renovate and beautify the Courses at Andrews, calling it a major upgrade for servicemembers and families.
  • Officials describe the project as in very early planning with costs and funding still undetermined.
  • AP reports Trump toured the base with Nicklaus before Thanksgiving and discussions include a potential multifunctional event center.
  • Despite frequent golfing elsewhere—AP estimates 92 days in his second term—there is no record of Trump having played the Andrews courses.
  • The proposal sits alongside other Trump building efforts, including an East Wing ballroom now estimated at $400 million and facing legal challenges.
