Overview
- Wheelhouse confirmed it has acquired Anomaly Entertainment and will operate the company as the newest label in its portfolio.
- Founders Matthew Kelly and Michael Sorensen will remain in creative roles and will work with Wheelhouse’s sports and investment divisions while existing projects continue under the new ownership.
- Anomaly built its reputation producing roughly 40 programs for Discovery’s annual Shark Week and has credits on shows for Netflix, HBO Max, ESPN+ and NFL Films.
- Anomaly is currently producing series for Discovery, TLC, HGTV and Food Network and has projects in development for other streamers and networks.
- The deal gives Wheelhouse deeper creator and talent ties and adds production capacity at a time when unscripted producers are consolidating to gain scale and wider distribution opportunities.
