WhatsApp Tests Two-Account Support on iPhone in Limited TestFlight Beta

Selected testers can keep work and personal profiles separate with labeled alerts plus biometric safeguards when switching.

Overview

  • The iOS TestFlight beta (version 25.34.10.72) enables multi-account use for a limited group of iPhone users.
  • A new Account List in Settings, sometimes shown as a button beside the QR icon, lets users add and switch profiles inside the app.
  • Testers can set up to two accounts by registering a new number, linking an existing WhatsApp or Business account, or adding a companion account via QR code with messages and settings synced.
  • Each profile maintains its own chat history, backups, privacy controls and notification preferences, and notifications clearly indicate which account received a message with quick-switch gestures available.
  • Multi-account switching integrates with App Lock for Face ID, Touch ID or passcode protection, and WhatsApp has not provided a timeline for general release.
