Overview

  • Guest Chats has appeared in WhatsApp Android beta version 2.25.22.13, allowing users to invite people without WhatsApp accounts into one-on-one text conversations via a unique link.
  • All Guest Chats are protected by end-to-end encryption to ensure only the two participants can read messages.
  • The feature supports text only and excludes media sharing, voice and video calls, and group chats to keep the experience lightweight for guests.
  • Invited participants can join chats in their web browser without downloading the app or creating an account.
  • WhatsApp has not announced a release date for Guest Chats and the feature remains limited to select beta testers.
