Overview

• The Advanced Chat Privacy setting can be enabled for individual private or group conversations and is off by default.
• In group chats, any participant can toggle the setting, and other members see a notice confirming it is active.
• When enabled, no one in that chat can invoke the assistant with “@Meta AI,” preventing the bot from accessing those messages.
• The mode also stops automatic saving of shared photos and videos to device galleries and disables chat export.
• The control does not prevent screenshots, forwarding, or ongoing metadata collection, and WhatsApp still shows the blue Meta AI indicator as the feature reaches more users.
