Overview

• The Advanced Chat Privacy toggle is appearing for users in both private and group chats, is off by default, and displays a notice to participants when activated.
• When enabled, no participant can call Meta AI with the @ command and the assistant cannot access that chat’s message contents.
• The mode also stops photos and videos from auto-saving to device galleries and disables exporting the chat history.
• The control is limited to individual chats; Meta AI cannot be switched off across the app and the blue AI indicator remains visible.
• Screenshots and message forwarding still work and any message that mentions @Meta AI is transmitted to Meta, while WhatsApp is also testing a KI writing assistant that runs under Private Processing in beta.
