Overview
- WhatsApp began rolling out the scheduled-messages feature to some Android beta testers on Sunday through version 2.26.40.7 on the Google Play Store.
- Users schedule messages by tapping and holding the send button to pick a date and time, and a dedicated Scheduled Messages section in chat info lets senders view or delete pending items.
- Messages can be set from 10 minutes up to two weeks in advance and only one photo or video can be attached to a single scheduled item.
- Scheduled items deliver automatically at the chosen time even if the sender’s phone is offline or the app is closed, and reporting says the feature remains end-to-end encrypted.
- The rollout is limited to beta testers for now and is expected to expand gradually over the coming weeks as WhatsApp validates the feature through staged releases.
