Overview
- This week WhatsApp expanded testing to select iOS beta testers after beginning limited Android beta tests earlier in October.
- Users create a scheduled message by tapping and holding the send button, then choosing a date and time between 10 minutes and two weeks from now.
- Scheduled items can include text, links, one photo or one video per scheduled entry, so multiple media files must be sent as separate scheduled messages.
- Scheduled messages remain end-to-end encrypted, appear in a dedicated pending section visible only to the sender, and can be deleted before delivery without notifying recipients.
- The feature is restricted to invite-only beta channels with no manual opt-in or public release date as WhatsApp refines group delivery rules, media limits, and offline delivery behavior.
