Overview
- WhatsApp for iOS 25.28.74 is rolling out now, with the Translate option reaching more users over the next few weeks.
- Translations support 21 languages, and availability can vary based on the iOS version installed.
- To access it, long-press a message, select More > Translate, and download the required language packs for offline use.
- All processing occurs locally using Apple’s Translation API (iOS 17.4+), and WhatsApp may limit the feature to newer iOS versions for reliability.
- The feature works for messages in individual and group chats but not for locations, documents, contacts, stickers, or GIFs; the update also adds Live Photos support.
