WFI Revokes Suspensions of Aman Sehrawat and Neha Sangwan

The federation accepted their written apologies, calling the cases first-time lapses.

Overview

  • WFI president Sanjay Kumar Singh accepted a disciplinary committee recommendation on November 14 to restore both wrestlers' eligibility.
  • The athletes were disqualified earlier this year for missing weight at the World Championships in Zagreb and the U20 Worlds in Samokov.
  • Initial sanctions set a one-year ban for Sehrawat and a two-year ban for Sangwan before the federation reversed the penalties after review.
  • Both wrestlers can now enter the Pro Wrestling League auction and return to future competitions.
  • WFI cautioned that any repeat violations related to weight management or discipline will attract stricter action.
