Overview

• The first franchised site, The Hykeham Manor at Gateway Park in Lincoln, is scheduled to open on October 1 on the former Brewers Fayre site.
• Further franchise openings are planned in October and November in Annitsford, Stockton-on-Tees and Emersons Green, with additional locations to follow.
• The Papas Group will operate 15 franchised pubs under the Wetherspoons brand, complementing a separate programme to open 15 managed pubs.
• Wetherspoons is also streamlining its estate by marketing six older pubs for sale in Barnstaple, Derby, Hackney, Peckham, Preston and Sunderland, which will keep trading until new owners take over.
• The move builds on existing Wetherspoons franchise arrangements with partners such as Haven Holiday Parks and universities in Newcastle and Hull.
