Wetherspoon Opens Beaconsfield Pub as First Overseas Site Set for February

JD Wetherspoon calls the Alicante airport bar the first step in a wider international push tied to a 30‑site pipeline this year.

  • The Chiltern in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, opens on 13 January inside the former Chiltern Picture House.
  • Castell de Santa Bàrbera will launch in February in the departures area at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport in Spain.
  • The Spanish location will trade seven days a week from 6am to 9pm.
  • The menu will include Full English breakfasts, burgers, pizzas and draught beer alongside Spanish omelette and garlic prawns.
  • Founder and chairman Sir Tim Martin says the airport opening begins the brand’s overseas expansion within a plan to add 30 pubs this financial year, with the chain already operating more than 800 UK sites.
