Overview

  • Westpac’s logo will appear on the front of Australia’s men’s and women’s team jerseys across Test, one-day and Twenty20 formats under a deal that began on July 12 and was announced on July 30.
  • The four-year agreement is valued at roughly $40 million, delivering about $10 million a year to Cricket Australia’s coffers.
  • The sponsorship ends a 37-year association between Cricket Australia and Commonwealth Bank, which had scaled back its involvement after the 2018 ball-tampering scandal.
  • Funding under the deal will support local cricket clubs, expand opportunities for women to play, nurture First Nations talent and underwrite the National Cricket Inclusion Championship as well as disability series.
  • The annual jersey revenue from Westpac remains about half of what the Board of Control for Cricket in India earns from its Dream11 sponsorship, reflecting differences in market scale.
