Overview

  • Strike Force Barberton raided alleged safe houses in Mays Hill, Bankstown, Campsie and Bonnyrigg Heights on Tuesday, seizing 415 kilograms of illicit drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin and MDMA.
  • Officers also recovered three pistols, more than 300 rounds of ammunition, about $450,000 in cash, 20 kilograms of precursor chemicals and a bulletproof vest.
  • Three men aged 19 to 26 were arrested, with Jamey Le Tran, 26, and Edward Huynh, 19, charged with large‑commercial drug supply and refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday.
  • Organised Crime Squad Commander Peter Faux said the network is highly likely linked to a thwarted attempted killing near a Revesby daycare last week that police attributed to an alleged kill team.
  • Detectives say they are pursuing offshore entities, naming Daniel “Danny” Badger as among those being examined, and are assessing potential links to the April murder of Bankstown woman Thi Kim Tran.
