Western States Lead at Great American Beer Festival

California, Colorado, and Oregon breweries excelled, capturing nearly half of the gold medals awarded.

The Great American Beer Festival awarded 326 medals to 273 breweries and cideries across the United States.
California breweries took home 24 gold medals, the highest of any state, with Colorado and Oregon tying for second with 13 each.
This year's competition included nearly 9,000 beer entries and 233 ciders, with a notable focus on cider categories.
Colorado's beverage makers secured 41 medals, surpassing last year's total, with significant wins in German-style lagers and barrel-aged categories.
Seven breweries were honored as 2024 Breweries of the Year, including three from California and three from Oregon.
