Overview
- The 35-hour mega block will begin at 1 pm on Friday, April 26, and end at midnight on Sunday, April 28, impacting train services between Kandivali and Borivali.
- The block is being implemented for the re-girdering of Bridge No. 61 on the 5th line, Carshed line, and Kandivali Traffic Yard line as part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
- A total of 163 suburban train services will be canceled during the block, with 73 cancellations on April 26 and 90 on April 27.
- Mail and Express trains typically running on the 5th line will be diverted to fast lines, while four long-distance trains will terminate or originate at alternative stations like Bhayandar and Vasai.
- The upgrades aim to enhance the rail network's capacity for accommodating future growth, while main Slow and Fast lines will remain operational to minimize disruptions.
