The shift expands Squamish oversight of construction through Nch’ḵay̓ Development Corporation.

Overview

  • OPTrust acquired Westbank’s remaining interest in Phases One and Two, establishing a 50–50 partnership with the Squamish Nation for those stages.
  • The Squamish Nation will hold full ownership of Phases Three and Four in the multi-phase development planned for roughly 6,000 rental homes.
  • Nch’ḵay̓ Development Corporation will take greater responsibility for construction and development following the restructuring.
  • All three Phase One towers have topped out at 27, 32, and 40 storeys, with more than 1,400 rental homes expected to open in 2026.
  • The project was launched in 2022 with a $1.4 billion federal construction loan supporting early phases.
