Kobe Johnson and Quin Slazinski led the Mountaineers with 19 points each, while Jesse Edwards scored 14 points and Josiah Harris chipped in 12.
The Mountaineers outscored the Gamecocks 26-12 on points in the paint and outrebounded them 38-34.
KyKy Tandy led the Gamecocks with 18 points, while Quincy Clark had 13 points and Marcellus Brigham Jr. added nine points and eight rebounds.
Despite a 10-0 run by the Gamecocks in the second half, the Mountaineers maintained their lead and secured the victory.
