Overview
- The blaze erupted shortly after 8:30 a.m. at an apartment complex at Olympia Drive and Hayes Road in west Houston.
- More than 100 firefighters responded and had the fire under control by about 10 a.m., according to a senior captain on scene.
- Sixteen units were involved, five were unoccupied, and one building is considered a total loss.
- Crews rescued multiple residents, including two who jumped from a window onto a couch and two removed from a second story.
