West Bengal Shifts Class 11 and 12 Board Exams to Semester System

WBCHSE announces syllabus revisions and a new semester-based exam format starting in the 2025-26 academic year.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) will implement a semester-based examination system for Classes 11 and 12 beginning in the 2025-26 academic year.
Minor revisions have been made to the syllabus for several subjects, including languages, arts, and commerce, to align with the new semester system.
The updated syllabus will be included in the fourth edition of the official syllabus book and reflected in upcoming model question papers.
These changes will not impact students currently preparing for the Class 11 Semester 2 exams or the 2025 Higher Secondary practical exams.
The WBCHSE has extended the online enrolment deadline for the 2025 Higher Secondary exams to December 21, 2024, with practical exams concluding on December 20, 2024.
