Overview
- The Chief Electoral Officer’s office clarified that affixing a photograph to the enumeration form is voluntary, with no directive from the Election Commission of India making it mandatory.
- Approximately 5.85 crore enumeration forms had been distributed statewide by 6 pm on Monday as the Special Intensive Revision continues.
- Voters who choose to attach a picture are advised to use a colour photograph with a white or blue background rather than a black-and-white image.
- If a mistake occurs on the form, the correction should be made beside the error and signed; two copies are issued, with the cleaner copy to be submitted to the Booth Level Officer and the other kept by the voter.
- Each form carries a unique QR code that prevents duplicate issuance, and forms may be filled in Bengali, English or, in some areas, Hindi, consistent with how rolls are maintained.
