Overview

  • Registration opened on June 18 for undergraduate admissions to 460 government and government-aided colleges across 17 state universities via the WBCAP portal.
  • The system features a single-OTP login and AI chatbot ‘Bina’ to assist applicants, requires no registration fee and supports phased preference selection for up to 25 course combinations.
  • Presidency University, Jadavpur University, autonomous colleges, minority educational institutions and private colleges are excluded from the centralised admission process.
  • Officials stated that a Calcutta High Court interim stay on OBC reservation list preparation will not disrupt the ongoing admission schedule.
  • Merit lists and seat allotments will be published on July 6, and classes for the 2025-26 academic session are set to begin on August 1.
