The re-run was mandated by the Supreme Court to replace the tainted 2016 recruitment.

Overview

  • About 2.46 lakh applicants are sitting the SLST-AT for 12,514 assistant-teacher posts across 478 centres today.
  • The exam runs from 12:00 to 13:30, with candidates instructed to report by 10:00 for verification and frisking.
  • Authorities have barred electronic devices, calculators and watches, and limited carry-ins to transparent pens, water bottles, admit cards and ID.
  • WBSSC has added unique identifiers to each question paper and says those who benefited from the 2016 process are disallowed, with 1,806 names published.
  • In the first phase on September 7, around 3.19 lakh candidates appeared and thousands came from outside the state, which the education minister said the government welcomes.
