WeRide Starts Mass Production of WePilot 3.0, Raises HK$2.39 Billion in Hong Kong Debut

Fresh Hong Kong capital will speed global commercialization, with initial deployments via Chery EXEED plus OTA upgrades.

  • WeRide said its one-stage end-to-end ADAS, co-developed with Bosch and branded WePilot 3.0, has reached start of production and entered mass production after a seven-month project cycle the company called an industry record.
  • The driver-assist system will ship with refreshed Chery EXEED ES and ET models, with existing Sterra ES and ET owners set to receive over-the-air upgrades.
  • The company completed a dual primary listing by debuting on HKEX under code 0800.HK, selling 88.25 million shares at HK$27.10 to raise about HK$2.39 billion before any greenshoe and becoming the first robotaxi firm traded in both Hong Kong and the US.
  • Founder and CEO Tony Han voluntarily committed to a three-year lock-up, pledging not to sell his shares for the next three years.
  • WeRide outlined plans to accelerate overseas rollout, saying it aims to deploy 10,000 robotaxis over the next few years while pointing to permits in seven countries and a fleet of more than 1,500 L4 vehicles, including over 700 robotaxis.
