Wendl and Arlt Secure Fifth European Luge Championship Title

The German duo triumphed in Winterberg with a record-breaking performance, edging out top Austrian competitors.

Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt claimed their fifth European Championship title in the men's doubles luge at Winterberg, setting a new track record.
The 37-year-old German athletes narrowly defeated Austrian teams Juri Gatt/Riccardo Schöpf and Yannick Müller/Armin Frauscher, who finished second and third, respectively.
Wendl and Arlt have now amassed an impressive career tally of six Olympic golds, ten World Championship titles, and five European golds.
In the women's doubles event, Germany’s Jessica Degenhardt and Cheyenne Rosenthal secured second place, narrowly losing to Austria’s Selina Egle and Lara Kipp by 0.014 seconds.
The European Championships, doubling as a World Cup event, will conclude on Sunday with the men’s singles and team relay competitions.
