Overview

• Judge Curtis Farber ruled that the deadlocked 2013 rape count involving Jessica Mann must be retried by year-end or he will proceed with Weinstein’s sentencing for the Miriam Haley conviction at a Sept. 30 hearing.
• Manhattan prosecutors said they are prepared to retry the charge and that Mann is ready and willing to testify again.
• Weinstein’s defense rejects a plea deal and has asked that prosecutors drop the Mann charge or quickly set a retrial to clear the path for sentencing.
• The June retrial produced a conviction for Miriam Haley’s 2006 assault, an acquittal for Kaja Sokola’s claim and a mistrial on the Mann count following reported juror threats.
• Weinstein, who continues to plead not guilty, remains in custody as he appeals his separate 2022 Los Angeles sexual assault conviction.
