Weimar Triangle Backs Ukraine's NATO Ambitions, Pledges Support Against Russian Aggression

France, Germany, and Poland commit to long-term military support and sanctions against Russia, while also supporting Ukraine's path to EU membership.

The Weimar Triangle countries, France, Germany, and Poland, have adopted a joint statement supporting Ukraine's future in NATO and its defense against Russian aggression.
The statement emphasizes the need for timely, predictable, and sustainable military support for Ukraine, including through the European Peace Fund and direct bilateral assistance.
The ministers call for the adoption of the 13th package of sanctions against Russia and commit to combating sanctions evasion and implementing further sanctions.
The countries will consult in the run-up to the NATO summit in Washington in July to strengthen the Alliance’s deterrence and defense and demonstrate support for Ukraine.
The Weimar Triangle will also work together to help Ukraine progress towards EU membership and invest in Ukraine's future, including through joint reconstruction projects.
