WeightWatchers Launches Program for Weight-Loss Drug Users

The new offering aims to support users of popular weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy, with tailored behavioral support and direct prescription services.

  • WeightWatchers has launched a new program, WeightWatchers GLP-1, aimed at supporting users of popular weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy, both brands of semaglutide.
  • The program, developed by a team of scientists, dietitians, fitness experts and others specializing in obesity, is designed to help members use the new anti-obesity medications, which can lead to rapid changes in weight.
  • Offerings include daily nutrition and activity targets, including weight training to help subscribers maintain muscle mass as they shed pounds.
  • WeightWatchers also offers insurance coordination so members can get the best deal for the drugs, and for an additional $99 a month users can get prescriptions for the drugs directly from WeightWatchers.
  • Oprah Winfrey, a longtime ambassador of the WeightWatchers brand, announced she has been using a weight loss drug, though she did not specify the brand.
