• Rogge, the first German woman in space and a Schöneberg native, carried a miniature replica of the bell during her April 2025 mission.
• District officials note the Liberty Bell replica was created on the initiative of U.S. General Lucius D. Clay and funded by donations from more than 16 million Americans.
• The bell first rang on October 24, 1950 and has sounded daily at noon since, becoming a powerful symbol for West Berlin during the city’s division.
