  • Six lot codes of 18.5-ounce Wegmans Semi-Sweet Chocolate Nonpareils are included in the recall under UPC 0 77890 49787 6 and SCC 10077890497873.
  • The FDA issued a Class I recall after testing found undeclared milk protein that could trigger serious or life-threatening reactions in milk-allergic consumers.
  • Products were sold through Wegmans stores in Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
  • Mellace Family Brands California attributed the recall to a temporary breakdown in its suppliers’ manufacturing process.
  • No illnesses have been reported and customers can return the affected tubs to any Wegmans location for a full refund while the FDA monitors the remediation.
