Weekend Works Close Sections of Berlin Ringbahn and Trigger Replacement Buses

Berliner S-Bahn says bridge, cable, track repairs will force reroutes plus bus replacements that change timetables for riders over two weekends including Halloween.

Overview

  • Service changes are already in effect this week with S41, S42 and S46 suspended on the ring between Halensee and Westend while replacement buses run to preserve connections.
  • The closure expands later this weekend so S41, S42 and S46 will also not run between Südkreuz and Westend and a second set of replacement buses will operate on that stretch.
  • A further planned closure the following weekend will stop S41 and S42 between Schönhauser Allee and Landsberger Allee for Dunckerstraße bridge work and track repairs, with S8 and S85 also affected.
  • Berliner S-Bahn will use rerouted services, changed endpoints for lines such as S46 and S47, and adjusted frequencies (a 10‑minute base with temporary 5/5/10-minute intensifications at set times) to limit disruption.
  • Commuters should expect longer journeys and altered night-service endpoints, consult the S-Bahn’s temporary timetables and allow extra travel time for trips that cross the affected Ringbahn sections.
