Despite Public and Wealthy Support, Global Leaders Yet to Implement Wealth Taxes

A recent survey of the ultra-rich in G20 countries revealed that 75% support introducing a 2% wealth tax on billionaires, and 74% support higher taxes on wealth to address the cost of living crisis and improve public services.
58% of the ultra-rich respondents support the introduction of a 2% wealth tax on people with more than $10 million, essentially taxing themselves.
Despite the support for wealth taxes from the ultra-rich and the general public, global leaders have yet to take action.
250 millionaires and billionaires, including Abigail Disney and Brian Cox, signed an open letter to world leaders attending the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting, calling for increased taxes on the wealthy.
