Overview
- The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board held a press conference on Thursday, June 18, to declare WBJEE 2026 results and made individual rank cards available for download from 4:00 PM on its official portals.
- The board released a final answer key earlier the same day after reviewing candidate objections and said the final keys are conclusive; reports note at least one question was dropped in the final key.
- Result statistics published by the board show 1,20,856 candidates registered, 94,901 appeared, and 92,753 qualified, giving a qualifying rate of 97.74 percent.
- Shaswat Banerjee was named General Merit Rank 1 in the merit list and the board published the top 10 rank holders; rank cards list subject-wise scores, total score and GMR for use in counselling.
- Centralised counselling and seat allotment will follow the results and are expected to begin by about June 29, the board said, but the schedule and seat allocation depend on colleges submitting seat matrices to the Higher Education Department and on overall seat availability.
