Waymo Announces Expansion of Driverless Robotaxi Service to Miami

The autonomous vehicle company plans to begin testing in 2025 with a full public launch set for 2026, partnering with Moove for fleet management.

Waymo will reintroduce its all-electric Jaguar I-PACE vehicles to Miami streets in early 2025, with plans to launch a fully autonomous ride-hailing service by 2026.
The company has partnered with African mobility fintech Moove to manage fleet operations, facilities, and charging infrastructure in Miami and Phoenix.
Waymo's expansion into Miami follows its operations in Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin, where it currently provides over 150,000 paid trips weekly.
Miami's challenging weather conditions, including frequent rain, were previously tested by Waymo to improve its autonomous driving technology.
The move comes as Waymo faces competition from Tesla, Cruise, and others, as well as scrutiny from regulators over autonomous vehicle safety.
