Despite these issues, Airship Syndicate remains committed to Wayfinder, promising major changes and improvements to ensure the game's longevity.
The developer has laid off 12 developers in January and is now focusing on reworking core ideas of the game to align with their standards and beliefs as a new independent publisher.
Wayfinder is expected to come out of Early Access this summer, with more information on the major changes to be revealed in the next four to six weeks.
