Waterline Tower Tops Out as Texas’ Tallest Skyscraper

Finishing work is now under way with a phased roll-out culminating in an early fall 2026 debut.

Overview

  • The tower reached its full structural height of 1,025 feet on July 31, overtaking Houston’s Chase Tower record set in 1981.
  • Developers have started interior and amenity fit-out across hotel, office and residential sections, each with dedicated entrances, parking and elevators.
  • The mixed-use complex will include a 251-room hotel, 700,000 square feet of office space, 352 rental apartments and 24,000 square feet of retail overlooking Waller Creek.
  • More than 4,750 workers have participated in the build since 2022, with upwards of 800 people coordinating on site at peak periods.
  • The Waterline will open in stages beginning early fall 2026 and link downtown Austin directly to Waller Creek trails and the Waterloo Greenway.
