Waterford Man Charged Over Threats to Kill Michigan GOP Youth Chair, Held on $1 Million Bond

Police say he admitted using Facebook to issue threats driven by anger toward Trump.

Overview

  • Bloomfield Township Police report a Facebook account sent messages threatening to use “Molotov cocktails for MAGA,” to “eradicate” Republicans and donors, and to shoot up and burn the Oakland County GOP headquarters.
  • Officials say the caller threatened to kill Michigan GOP Youth Chair Krish Mathrani and to “put a bullet” in his skull during audio calls to the party office.
  • Detectives working with the FBI identified the account as Ryan Lewis Vallance’s, located him near his Waterford residence during a traffic stop, and say he admitted making the threats.
  • The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued a one-count warrant for False Report/Threats of Terrorism, a 20-year felony, and Vallance was arraigned and lodged at the county jail on a $1,000,000 no 10% cash bond.
  • The youth chair issued a statement vowing not to be intimidated, and an Oakland County GOP advisor characterized the case as part of rising threats toward Republicans in a statement referencing the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
