Water Skier Tim Stable After 90mph Crash at Europe’s Largest Watersports Festival

Organisers cancelled the rest of Sunday’s races after local authorities and Waterski Racing Europe expressed support for his recovery.

  • Norfolk Accident Rescue Service, local police, divers and the East Anglian Air Ambulance reached the South Quay site within minutes to administer aid.
  • He was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with life-threatening injuries and later reported to be in stable condition.
  • Waterski Racing Europe, the festival committee and the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk issued a joint statement expressing condolences to Tim’s family and fellow competitors.
  • The annual Hanseatic Festival of Water Sports draws elite racers from across Europe to King’s Lynn for high-speed competitions on the River Great Ouse each June.
